With cooler weather finally arriving in the Carolinas this week, Jocassee's summertime thermocline should start to break down leaving the water temperature similar from top to bottom. Still a lot of energy that needs to dissipate, but at least it is a start.
Stocker trout from last year seem to have done much better with browns and rainbows from that class still being caught this fall. Fish will stay deep (plus 100') until the surface temp drops into the low 60s and cooler. Once that happens work the top 50' with spoons and stick baits.
Call to book your Southern Trout charter at this beautiful lake for your chance to tangle with Jocassee's big browns this winter. Dates are limited and filling quickly.
