Salmon fishing in Frankfort is hitting its peak for the next few weeks. The King bite has been consistent with more and more coho arriving as they make their way to birth waters for the September run.
Strong southerly winds will push the temp break down deep this week, 80-100 or more. Plugs have been taking off but spoons still producing a lot of fish. Flasher/fly and meat rigs after low light.
The Catpack completed its big water season on Thursday with strong winds forecasted for the weekend and returned to SC. Colder water before the blow had us fishing about 60 FOW and 25-35 down for most of the bites. Top baits have been original Moonshine Mongolian Beef and Bloody Nose. Black Screwball still a consistent producer. White Slick DW spin doctor with a pickle sunshine fly has been our best F/F combo and DW Capt Choice Green Glow ladderback plug.
Call to book your Southern Trout trip for a chance to tangle with one of Jocassee's big Browns.
